Northern Irish heroes Loco & Jam are back on Deeperfect, showcasing the evolution and technical mastery of their sound. The aptly titled “Intro To A Darker Place!” sets the tone for the rest of the EP with streamlined electronics, serving as a great tool. The title track kicks things off with crackling snares over a rocksteady rhythm section while commanding stabs and hypnotic loops immerse us in technological warfare. “Pummel” picks right up with distant vocals echoing throughout and menacing synths maintaining the bleak vibe, all leading to an apocalyptic breakdown which only the boys know how to orchestrate.
