Metodi’s debut outing on Deeperfect shows off his intricate and unique approach to the sound, starting off with the meticulously constructed “More Than Ever”. The bouncy bassline and sultry dialog set the tone, but we get caught off-guard with funked-out synths and quirky effects. The Gallya & Shosho remix is slightly dubbier and moody with emphasis on cavernous manipulation and driving percussion, while warped vocals and discordant riffs play along. The closing “We Don’t Need” follows the footsteps of the title track with rubber-band synthesizers and playful phrases, letting more off-kilter musical elements and spoken word snippets unfold.
