Label boss Stefano Noferini teams up with Samuel Dan for some heads-down business and a three-track trip to rabbit hole central.
Kicking off with a rollercoaster bassline, the opener shuffles and grinds via the help of a snappy rhythm section. Hypnotic percussion shifts the focus on the loopiness, only to be interrupted by intricate edits and cavernous effects. “Dark Passenger” gives a subtle nod to the tribal sound but adds the menace with synth stabs and garbled electronics, while the laid-back groove provides the perfect backdrop for a sultry vocal snippet.
Samuel Dan’s Dark Mix of the original seals the EP with classic analog bass and electronic squelches galore. An assortment of even more vocal edits and psychotic effects all add up for a twisted epilog to this groovy ride.
